TALENTA 2024 is an Accelerator Program initiated by USAID in collaboration with AWS and Elitery, to assist potential early-stage Indonesian startups in EdTech, HealthTech, AgriTech, GovTech or SmartCities industry geared toward investors matchmaking. The program offers resources and opportunities to help entrepreneurs to get access to venture capital to grow their businesses and advance the socio-economic progress in Indonesia.

What are the rules of participation?

In brief, your startup must be an early-stage technology startup (prototype stage to Series A) with less than US$ 1,000,000 in yearly revenues. Your focal market must be Indonesia with a focus on EdTech, HealthTech, AgriTech, GovTech or SmartCities.

Please refer to the Rules of Participation for the exhaustive list of eligibility criteria.

Do I have to be incorporated to apply?

No, but you should have clear development projects and goals. In the case that a non-­incorporated project wins the competition, the funds will be transferred or prizes will be given once the company is incorporated.

What are the evaluation criteria?

The team, problem identification and value proposition, innovation, timing, market opportunity, execution plan and go-to-market strategy, business model viability, investability and pitch quality.

What language will the programme be conducted in?

The application, the online pitch and talkings with venture capital (investors) will be held in English.
Accelerator program will be held in Bahasa Indonesian and English

How much time will I have to spend on the programme?

It will take about 15 to 30 minutes to apply. All registrants will go through the curation process. If needed, you are going to be interviewed shortly during the process.

After the curation, If you are selected for the Acceleration Program, you will participate in 2 months programs. both online and hybrid (including hybrid kickoff plenary session, online lecture classes, hybrid workshop, online coaching and online peer learning).

If you are then selected as a finalist for Demo Day, you will have the opportunity to pitch to VC for 10 minutes. We also recommend taking some time and fully preparing for each round in order to get the most out of the competition, but the necessary time will  vary. This pitching session will decide whether venture capitals would like to create a 1 on1 meeting with you or not.

How to be accepted to pitch on Demo Day?

After passing the curation process, we will select 35 potential startups to experience the accelerator sessions. 

During the accelerator program, we will actively curate growing startups who will be able to pitch their product in front of venture capitalists on Demo Day of TALENTA 2024. Thus, we encourage all startups to be proactively involved in the accelerator coaching sessions. Only 25 startups will be selected to participate in the Demo Day. The 25 startups will have a 10 minutes opportunity to pitch their product and secure potential 1-on-1 meetings with investors.

How many winners will be chosen?

All participants’ startups will be curated based on their submission deck and eligibility terms and conditions.

In the Acceleration Program phase, 35 startups will be selected.
After acceleration, top 25 startups will be selected to pitch at the Demo Day.

What if I’m not in the same city as the mentors/judges?

That’s ok! All of the pitching, mentoring, and judging will take place entirely online. Our team will ensure you are paired with a judge in a similar time zone so each round is convenient for both parties.

Who will be evaluating my application?

Our team will be going through each application and select the best 50 to participate in the mentoring program. Considerations will include completeness of application, fit within category, impact, team, market, product.

Is there an application fee?

No, applying to the programme is completely free.

Are there any costs associated with the competition?

No, neither money nor equity are requested for the participation.

Who can participate in all the rounds?

Only the startup founders/co-founders can participate in each round. We suggest that the same people participate in every round.

What is an Acceleration program and who will get access to it?

The top 35 startups will be invited to the Acceleration round. It is a 2 months workshop and online classes led by industry experts/facilitators specially designed to support and provide opportunities for the EdTech, HealthTech, AgriTech, GovTech or SmartCities founders to grow their team and product.

Will Covid-19 related restrictions affect my participation?

Not at all! There’s option for online and hybrid.
