Implementation of University Cloud Computing Technology Workforce Development
This proposed activity will equip Indonesia’s workforce (talents) with digital skills to meet the upcoming digital skills demands in Indonesia through the reliable and scalable AWS digital skill learning platform.

Eligibility Criteria

Institutions can join this program if they meet the following eligibility:

The university offers accredited degrees and diplomas

The university commits to registering between 3,500 - 9,000 students in this program (the average expected number from each university is calculated from the total target beneficiaries of 60,000 students divided by 20 target universities). These commitments can be spread out over 3 years.

The university must promote the program and be accessible by all students and nominate students to attend the AWS training and workshops and champion the program within their institution.

The university commits to implementing the program using the LMS and AWS Cloud for one year of activity and considers continuing beyond the program. Within this one year, universities are required to deliver a minimum of two subjects in a blended learning method utilizing the LMS, one is a soft skill subject (e.g. Character Building) and the other one is a hard skill subject (e.g. Programming Language).

Training

  • The universities’ registered students will attend the training and workshops provided by AWS.

AWS Badge

  • The universities’ registered students will obtain the AWS Cloud Computing 101 badge from the AWS Educate Platform. The knowledge will be useful for the nominated students to champion the program within their institution together with AWS.

Learning

  • The institution will provide the onboarding process for the registered students and train them to use the provided systems, such as AWS Educate and LMS. As such, the institution and AWS will provide the necessary access to the system.

Monitoring

  • The institution will track and report the student’s success metrics utilizing the AWS Educate Platform and LMS. AWS will provide a system and workflow to assist the institutions in collecting and reporting these metrics.

Why Apply

The partnership will enable universities to deliver digital learning
(offline, online, or hybrid learning) strategy using Learning Management
System (LMS) with proper cloud infrastructure and produce students
databases as a pool of digital talents that will be channeled to the
AWS’s online job fair platform (AWS Educate Job Board).

When is the deadline for signing the Commitment Letter?

The duration for signing the Commitment Letter is February 1 – March 10, 2023. The sooner you sign the better, so that universities can immediately enjoy the benefits of the TALENTA program.

How long does this program run?

The University commits to implementing the program using the LMS and AWS Cloud during one year of activity and is considering continuing beyond the program.

How many students per institution should be enrolled in AWS Educate?

The number of students per institution that must be registered with AWS Educate is 3,500 – 9,000* students.

What are the requirements that students must meet to be registered with AWS Educate?

The requirements:

  • Preferably IT students. However, if the number of IT students has not met the target, it is possible to include other disciplines.
  • Students must be registered at their respective universities as evidenced by a university/faculty recommendation letter.
  • Underprivileged students who meet other criteria* will be prioritized.
  • At least 2 out of 5 participating students are female.

*) Have a Certificate of Disadvantage from Urban Village where they are domiciled.

How many badges should students collect?

Students collect at least 1 badge (Cloud Computing 101). This badge is earned after completing the “Introduction to Cloud 101” course. This course consists of 7 modules related to AWS core services. Completion of this course will demonstrate sufficient competency to attract employers, as cloud computing is increasingly used in the technology and digital industries. Having this badge will be important in the digital industry (not specifically for cloud service companies, but other digital technology companies). Other sectors, such as cloud engineering, will require more badges.

How many Bootcamps will be held in a year?

Bootcamp will be held once a year.

How many bootcamp participants?

Quota/number of Bootcamp participants (from all registered institutions): 20 Participants.

What are the benefits for students who take part in Bootcamp?

Benefits for students who take part in Bootcamp:

  1. Bootcamp will improve students’ ability to:
    – maintain cloud network architecture (advanced network).
    – get insights and value from cloud data (data analytics).
    – perform database administration, data engineering, and system operation (Database).
    – build applications with Artificial Intelligence (AI) services.
    – develop media solutions.
    – implement processes and best practices for cloud security.
    – identify cloud storage solutions.
    – maintain cloud network architecture (advanced network).
    – get insights and value from cloud data (data analytics).
    – perform database administration, data engineering, and system operation (Database).
    – build applications with Artificial Intelligence (AI) services.
    – develop media solutions.
    – implement processes and best practices for cloud security.

  2. Become a talent in the Elite Academy database to be marketed/recruited in the Industry.

What are the activities in Bootcamp?

Bootcamp Activities:

  • Face-to-face workshop for a week.
  • Intensive real work for three months in the IT industry (Elitery).

What are Elitery's criteria in screening participants to join Bootcamp?

Elitery criteria in screening Boot Camp participants:

  • Earn the AWS Learning Badge and complete at least two specific AWS Educate Programs, such as data analytics, network, system operator, architect, and security learning plan.
  • Demonstrate active participation in campus organizations.
  • Proven advanced knowledge of cloud computing.
  • Obtain a letter of recommendation from the university/faculty.

After the bootcamp, are there any follow-up activities for students selected to join the Bootcamp?

After attending the bootcamp, the participants become talents in the Elite Academy database to be marketed/recruited in the industry.
